Half Time/Full Time Result

This football market is a mix of the HT and the regular 1X2 markets. For a HT / FT bet, you have to accurately predict the result at both Half and Full Time (Home, Draw or Away).

It is important to note that HT / FT betting markets are not like double chance market when you win when either the HT or FT outcomes are correctly picked. You must pick both correctly with HT / FT.

In order to win the bet you have to select, for example, if the Liverpool v West ham match was 1-1 for HT and the FT was 2-1: The draw (X) for HT and Home (1) for FT.

This particular combination is shown as “X/1.” The other variations (lost) were 1/1, 1/X, 1/2, X /X,X/2, 2/1, 2/2 and 2/X.

The combination Half Time / Full Time is difficult to predict and will produce a winner less often than split the bet into single for each half. But, of course, this lower chance of winning reflects higher payouts.

Further on, in the post, you can find out more about Combo Bets.

Goalscorers of The Match

The betting markets of Goalscorer are quite logical. They allow bettors to wager on players to score a goal in a game (but their own goals don’t matter!). Strikers are generally preferred to score. Other players are typically absolutely outsiders, including defenders.

There are variants on goal scorers:

  • “Anytime Scorer”— a player’s chance to score in the game regardless of when.
  • “First Scorer”— a player betting on the first goal of the game.
  • “Last Scorer” –bet a player to the game’s final score.
  • “To Score 2/3/4…”— wager for a player to score at least 2/3/4/more times. The bet will still win if you score more goals than the number you chose.

It should be noted that bookmakers have different conditions when your goal scorer is not in the game (i.e. not selected, injured, ill, prohibited). Some books will pay you back, others will take it into account as a lost bet.

It’s not gambling if you always win! It is the easiest way to make money on sports. Learn all about Sports Arbitrage.

Corners

Corners markets are common in spread betting and use the full Under / Over format. Nevertheless, there are many other corner markets available for daily fixed odds gambling.

Many corner markets can be seen in the bookies and exchanges:

  • “Under / Over / Exactly X corners” – to bet on under / over the number of corners in a game (e.g. 10).
  • “Around X – Y corners” — betting on the total number of corners between a specific range (for example 5-10)
  • “First half corners” / “Second half corners” — wagering how many corners will arise for a given half of the game.
  • “Most corners” — to wager which team gets the most corners.
  • “First team at X corners” – wager for a race between the two teams, where the winner is the first to the full number of team corners (for example 5).
  • “First corner time” — to bet on different corner times.

Corner markets may also include Asian handicap conditions.

Red/Yellow Cards

Like corners, you can also bet how many cards will be shown (and especially yellow or red) during a football match.

“Number of cards in game” is the most common betting market for cards— in which the bookmaker sets the estimated total for the numbers of cards, and punters will bet whether the final total is above or below that sum. Usually the line is 2.5 cards, although for some fixtures (e.g. derbies) it may be even larger.

Bookies include numerous other self-explanatory card markets. For instance:

  • Number of cards for each team;
  • Which team can earn the most reservations;
  • Whether a red card is shown in the game;
  • For a specific team;
  • In a particular half (1st or 2nd);
  • At a certain time.

Asian handicap markets are again popular on the card markets.

Score/Miss Penalty

Bookmakers provide the odds of penalties being issued and scored. The bets you can place on penalties tend to be in a Yes / No standard format, for example:

  • If the penalty will be received?
  • A penalty to be scored?
  • To miss a penalty?
  • 1st goal to be a penalty scored?

You can also define the squad for many of these markets For example, “Team A penalty to be scored? “And ” Team B penalty to be missed?”.

Keep in mind that there are no penalties in every match— so many of those markets are highly likely to have high odds.

Combined Bets

Combo bets are just a combination of two football bets, and in some cases more. The combination of various bets increases the risk and thus the payout, as you need to predict two parts properly to win.

Among the most popular Combo bets are:

Fixed halftime-full time score— predict the score halftime and full time.
Winner & Number of goals— predict the team and the number of goals to be scored in a game. For the Draw (i.e. “draw & under or over 2.5 goals”) similar bets are available.
Winner & Both teams to score — predict whether both teams will score or not and the full-time result.
Total goals & All scoring teams— determine how many goals will be scored by the two teams or not.
Scorecast — predict which player will score the first goal in full time and the final scoring. Combinations like “anytime and final score,” or “first scorer and winner” can also be found.

Asian Handicap

Asian Handicap (AH) can be viewed as an extension of European Handicap (EH) — they are almost the same thing. The main difference is that Asian handicap limit football matches to just two (win and lose) outcomes. If the bet finishes with a Handicap draw, the bettor’s stake is reimbursed.

For example, there could be an Asian handicap market with two outcomes for a cup holder (no draw): Chelsea (-2) Oxford United (+2). When Chelsea wins by two goals, it wouldn’t give a winner to both teams and the bettor would have his stake restored. In this case the draw is not possible.

There are also a variety of other types of Asian Handicap bets. AH Markets are easily the most complex soccer bets to you and can not be summarized in a short section. Therefore they will be discussed in a future post, so check our site out for updates.

European Handicap

The European Handicap or EH is the simplest form of football handicap bet. In the EH market, the game begins by giving one team a predefined goal advantage (e.g. -1/-2/-3, etc). Punters can bet on any of the game’s three outcomes given the handicap target.

By reducing one team’s superiority (and requiring them to gain more to win) the views of a bettor on the setting change. When they are handicapped, strong favorites are forced to prove their dominance–giving the weaker competitor more potential. It results in an averaging out the chances in unequal situations, instead of endorsing the favorite extremes at low odds or the lower ones at high odds in the 1X2 market.

Most quality bets occur in football markets with handicaps. Handicap odds aren’t as effective as 1X2 odds; bookies often have player edge prices.
